The immediate-past Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Enema Paul, has died at a private hospital in Abuja following a prolonged illness.
Paul, who represented Okura State Constituency in the 8th Assembly, had stepped down from his position as deputy speaker on health grounds.
Enema Paul was replaced by Comfort Nwuchola, representing Ibaji State Constituency.
Aliyu Yusuf, Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, expressed condolences in a statement, describing Enema Paul as a humble, committed, and temperate legislator devoted to uniting the state and advancing pro-people legislation.
The Kogi State Government also issued a tribute through Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo, acknowledging Paul’s dedication as a legislator and former Commissioner for Rural Development.
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo expressed profound sorrow, calling Paul’s passing a heavy loss to the state.
Paul is remembered as a detribalized leader and a devoted public servant who upheld family values and worked tirelessly for the progress of Kogi State.
