The management of Nigerian singer Falz, have reacted to an ultimatum given to the singer by the Muslims Rights Concern group (MURIC) concerning his music video ‘This is Nigeria.”
MURIC released a statement Tuesday condemning the video which they said ridicules their religion. They kicked against the use of some girls dancing shaku shaku while putting on hijab. According to them, if Falz fails to take down the video within seven days, he should prepared to face consequence.
Reacting to the ultimatum from MURIC, Falz’s management team stated that they are not taking down the video. They also revealed that they are ready to meet MURIC in court where they feel is the best place for the group to have their grievances settled.
“We have nothing to say. We are not withdrawing the video neither are we commenting on their claims. If they (MURIC) have any grievance they can head to court and we will meet them”, Falz’s management team said.
Since the release of the video which is a cover of US rapper Childish Gambino’s song ‘This is America’, a huge controversy has trailed it because it touched on many issues bothering the Nigerian society.
