Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has announced a 54-man provisional list for the 35th Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) set to take place in Morocco.
Top stars such as captain William Troost-Ekong, Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi, and Stanley Nwabali headline the squad, which was unveiled across all Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) platforms on Tuesday.
Several regular internationals also made the cut, including Maduka Okoye, Zaidu Sanusi, Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi, Frank Onyeka, Alex Iwobi, Raphael Onyedika, Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Simon Moses, and Chidera Ejuke.
Chelle expanded his selection to include notable home-based players like Abdulrasheed Shehu, Ebenezer Harcourt, Ekeson Okorie, Chisom Orji, and Adekunle Adeleke, signalling his plan to evaluate domestic talents ahead of the tournament.
The NFF confirmed that the list will be pruned to a final 28-man squad in the coming days.
The Super Eagles will commence their training camp in Egypt on December 10, where they are expected to play friendly matches before the competition kicks off on December 21.
