Edo Election: INEC Declares APC’s Monday Okpebholo Winner

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Monday Okpebholo, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, as winner of the governorship election held in Edo State on Saturday, September 21.

According to the results from 18 local government areas (LGAs) announced on Sunday, Okpebholo secured a total of 291,667 votes.

The APC candidate also won in 11 of the state’s 18 local governments.

The first runner-up was Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who got 247,274 votes.

The Labour Party’s Olumide Akpata emerged as the second runner-up with a total of 22,763 votes.
