Dbanj and wife
Nigerian music sensation, Dapo Oyebanjo aka Dbanj had finally decided to state his side of the rape allegations leveled against him by a certain lady on Twitter, Seyitan.
Recall a few weeks ago before Dbanj’s birthday, Seyitan had revealed how the Kokomaster raped her in a Lagos hotel in 2018.
For sometimes, Dbanj kept quiet and went ahead to have his birthday and also flaunted his biggest endorsement with a bank.
However, on Monday, he decided opening up on the issue via his Instagram handle.
He wrote, “Today is exactly 1 week after my birthday and this will be the only time I will address the recent false allegations and lies from the pit of hell.
“I have chosen to do so because the incident is a slap to my marriage and my beautiful wife, my entire family and those who believe in me. I did not want to dignify the slurs with a response but it appears my silence has empowered my accusers to think I have been scared into the shadows so I would like to state that these accusations are false and ludicrous and have been handed over to my Legal Team.
“It’s unfortunate that this is coming a few weeks before the second anniversary of my late son Daniel and this well timed falsehood has reopened the painful scars of my deep loss.
“To my fans and loved ones, thanks for the support, your positive comments and prayers. God bless us all.”
Many wondered why Dbanj was referring to his late son in his response. “It was totally uncalled for,” a fan of his said.
He lost his son, Daniel The Third, on June 24, 2018.
For the entertainer, it was indeed a trying time losing a one year-old son, who reportedly drowned in an indoor swimming pool located in their Ikoyi home in Lagos.
That episode garnered more love for the couple from fans and followers globally.
Meanwhile, Seyitan, a few weeks ago, had called out Dbanj for forcefully having sex with her in a Lagos hotel.
She said her hurt increased when she observed that the crooner also put up a post on Instagram condemning rape of some young ladies.
Currently, her lawyers have sent a letter to Dbanj demanding among other things that he tenders a public apology to the alleged victim.
Meanwhile, Dbanj’s lawyers have also written back to the lady’s lawyers.
