Nigerian culinary talent Damilola Adeparusi, popularly called Chef Dammy, has achieved a significant milestone as she graduates from the Hospitality Business School (HBS) in Lagos, solidifying her status as a trained professional in the culinary arts.
Chef Dammy, who became widely known after her cook-a-thon attempt in June 2023, successfully completed the Professional Culinary Art Chef Diploma on a full scholarship—an achievement confirmed by Horecabb Mentors, owners of the institution.
Announcing her accomplishment via Instagram on Tuesday, she expressed her joy, writing, “It’s safe to say Chef Dammy is officially a professional chef. Grateful to have graduated from the best hospitality school in Nigeria, first in Africa and among the top 10 in the world.”
She also reflected on the support she has received throughout her journey, saying, “Cheers to the grace of God and the favor of men that have brought me this far. God bless HBS. God bless my sponsors. God bless my supporters. God bless Nigeria. And God bless me.”

Looking back on her first days at the school earlier in February 2025, she shared a memory of wearing her school uniform for the first time. “My first time in school uniform as a proper pro. Chef in the making,” she wrote.
She added a playful recollection of her initial shyness: “I ran back into the hostel to go and blush. Being my first time in the school uniform, when I stepped out of the hostel, I started hearing, ‘Chef Dammy, you’re finally wearing the uniform, so fine!’ So I ran back inside, took selfies, and started blushing again.”
Chef Dammy further expressed gratitude to food entrepreneur Oluwatobi Fletcher (Ofadaboy), HBS Group CEO Dr. Mekwuye Eric, and the Ekiti State Government for facilitating her studies.
Dr. Eric explained that the scholarship scheme—jointly supported by HBS, Ofadaboy, and the Ekiti State Government with endorsement from First Lady Yemi Oyebanji—includes five extra courses designed to produce “complete and well-rounded chefs.”
