Nollywood actress and filmmaker Bimbo Ademoye has expressed relief and gratitude after a lengthy copyright battle involving her YouTube movie, Where Love Lives, was settled in her favour.

The actress shared the update in an Instagram post on Monday, where she thanked her mother, close associates, members of her creative team and her devoted online supporters — affectionately called her “cyber family” — for standing by her throughout the ordeal and helping to report the infringing content.

“God don’t play about me, that’s how I know he’s real. I want to say a very big thank you to my mother @uduakisong1 for not resting till the issue was resolved. I love you forever mom. To @ugoccie and her team, thank you for standing by me and helping out. @sir.fela thank you for always helping to make sure things are resolved,” Ademoye wrote.

She reserved special praise for her fans, crediting them with ensuring the illegal upload was taken down across streaming platforms.

“And most importantly! to my Amazing cyber family! Haa you guys, una no dey carry me play o. You guys reported Emmanuel Davies till the song got taken down on all platforms. I’m kicking my feet in the air like a little child . It’s giving play with her and you’d incure the watch of her cyber family. I love you guys so much,” she added.

The controversy began after an individual operating under the alias Emmanuel Davies allegedly laid false copyright claims to a song used in the film. Although the track was fully owned by Ademoye with the consent of the original artist, it was reportedly uploaded to platforms such as Spotify under the fake name, leading to a copyright strike on her YouTube upload.

As a result, Where Love Lives — a December 2025 release featuring Uzor Arukwe, Chioma Nwosu and Osas Ighodaro — was demonetised despite recording millions of views, with earnings allegedly redirected.

Ademoye had earlier gone public with her frustration, threatening legal action and demanding the immediate withdrawal of the false claim. She described the experience as emotionally draining, admitting it left her unable to interact normally with fans.

The resolution has since drawn widespread reactions online, with fans celebrating the outcome and praising the actress for speaking out against copyright abuse.
