Marco Asensio, the three-time Champions League winner, who previously enjoyed nine years at Real Madrid, joins Marcus Rashford, who arrived on loan from Manchester United on Sunday, in Unai Emery’s revamped forward line.
Villa sought attacking reinforcements following the departure of Jhon Duran to Saudi club Al Nassr for a reported £64 million ($79 million). The club also brought in Donyell Malen from Borussia Dortmund earlier in the transfer window.
Currently sitting eighth in the Premier League, Aston Villa is just four points away from the top four, as they continue their push for Champions League qualification next season.
Marco Asensio, who helped PSG win Ligue 1 last season, has struggled for game time in recent months, failing to start a match since November. His arrival at Villa Park provides Emery with more experience and depth in attack.
