Less than 24 hours after former Gombe State Governor, Senator Danjuma Goje buried the remains of his wife, Hajiya Fatima Yelwa Goje, another Senator, Gilbert Nnaji has also buried his wife, Ann.
The senator representing Enugu East at the National Assembly, lost his wife in September 2017.
Senator Goje’s wife, Hajiya Yelwa died last Monday while abroad where she sought medical attention, while Mrs Nnaji died in a foreign hospital after a long battle with an undisclosed ailment.
Nnaji is the chairman of the Senate Committee on Communications.
Tears flowed freely at Nike in Enugu State on Friday, November 10, 2017 as the remains of the deceased, whose mother was still alive, were laid to rest.
Wife of the Senate President and Chair, Forum of Senators’ Wives, Mrs Toyin Saraki, also led members of the Forum to condole with the family of the deceased.
Mrs. Saraki and other wives of Senators of the 8th Senate paid their last respects and prayers were offered for her husband, Senator Gilbert Nnaji (Enugu East), her children, aged mother, the entire family and the people of Enugu East Senatorial District.
Mrs. Saraki was received on arrival in Enugu by the Wife of the Deputy Senate President, Lady Nwanneka Ekweremadu. On the delegation to Enugu were Mrs. Rachel Owan-Enoh, Haj. Bilkisu Kyari, Mrs. Uchenna Utazi, Mrs. Flora Abaribe, Mrs. Bolanle Ibrahim, Mrs. Agwuye Atai Ali, Dr. Sa’adatu Sabi Abdullahi, Haj Zhikrah Akanbi, and Mrs. Ebi Foster Ogola.
