The remains of late Nollywood actress Allwell Ademola have been laid to rest in Lagos, following an emotional farewell attended by family members, colleagues, and friends from the film industry.
Ademola, who died at the age of 49, reportedly suffered a heart attack at her home. She was rushed to a hospital for urgent medical attention but was later confirmed dead. News of her sudden passing sparked deep grief across Nollywood, where she was widely respected for her enduring impact and artistic excellence.
Tributes and mourning activities began on Thursday with a solemn service of songs held at the Blueroof Auditorium of Lagos State Television in Ikeja. The gathering marked the first major moment of collective remembrance, drawing industry colleagues and loved ones together to celebrate her life and legacy.
Following the indoor programme, mourners participated in a candlelight procession, turning the atmosphere into a public expression of honour and remembrance for the late actress.
The burial ceremony and interment took place on Friday at the Atan Cemetery in the Yaba area of Lagos. At the graveside, clergymen led prayers and hymns, while family members paid their final respects by sprinkling sand on her coffin.

Several prominent Nollywood figures were present at the burial, including Toyin Abraham, Afeez Owo, Saidi Balogun, Yetunde Wunmi, and Adedoyin Kukoyi.
Allwell Ademola was celebrated as one of Nollywood’s most versatile creatives, excelling as an actress, writer, and director. Although she began acting at a young age, her professional breakthrough came in 2008. Over the years, she featured in notable productions such as Ile Wa, Third Eye, Murder At The Bar, and Mimi’s Voice, leaving behind a legacy that continues to resonate within the industry.
