Ikeja Electric has apologised to customers on several Band A feeders after failing to deliver the minimum 20 hours of electricity daily on October 25 and 26, 2026, with five feeders in Shomolu recording no supply on both days.

The electricity distribution company disclosed this in a circular dated October 27, listing affected feeders across Ikeja, Shomolu, Oshodi and Akowonjo, alongside the reasons for the shortfall.

“Dear Esteemed Customer, we apologize for falling short of the expected minimum service level of 20 hours on the Band A feeders below for October 25th and 26th, 2026,” the company stated.

The five Shomolu feeders that recorded zero hours of supply on both days were 11-Magodo INJ-T1-Emanuel Keshi, 11-Magodo INJ-T1-Shangisha, 11-Magodo INJ-T1-Owulade, 11-Magodo INJ-T2-Bashiru and 11-Magodo INJ-T2-CMD.

Ikeja Electric attributed the outages on the affected feeders to “panel swap”.

Other feeders recorded varying hours of electricity supply during the two-day period. The 11-PTC INJ-T2-Awuse feeder in Ikeja received 19.28 hours on October 25 and 18.72 hours the following day.

In Shomolu, the 11-Oworo INJ-T3-Anthony feeder recorded 6.38 hours of supply on October 25 before rising to 19.32 hours on October 26.

The company also cited network faults, grid instability and limitations involving power transformers as reasons for the reduced supply on some feeders.

In Akowonjo, the 11-Alimosho INJ-T8-Okunola feeder received 16.55 hours of electricity on October 25 and 18.95 hours on October 26.

Meanwhile, the 11-PTC INJ-T2-Medical feeder in Ikeja recorded 15.82 hours on the first day and 18.72 hours on the second day.

The 33-Orgba TCN-MTN feeder in Ikeja also recorded zero hours of electricity supply on both days, with Ikeja Electric identifying a 33kV fault among the causes of the disruption.

The company listed faults on its 11kV and 33kV networks, alongside what it described as “power transformer limitation”, as other factors affecting electricity delivery to customers.

It apologised to affected consumers, stating, “we regret any inconvenience this may have caused you.”

The latest notice follows previous explanations by Ikeja Electric over reduced electricity supply across its distribution network, which the company had linked to inadequate power allocation from the national grid.

In a statement issued on October 6, the DisCo said it was engaging relevant stakeholders to improve supply and pledged to distribute the available electricity “as efficiently and equitably as possible”.

On October 19, the company again attributed reduced supply hours across its network to insufficient electricity allocated from the national grid.
