The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company has notified residents and businesses in parts of Ogun State of a power outage caused by a technical fault affecting two electricity feeders.
The affected areas are mainly within Abeokuta and include several residential communities, hotels, institutions and government establishments such as MAPOLY, Lafenwa, Olomore, Adigbe, Panseke, Ita Eko, Alamala Barracks and the Ogun-Osun River Basin.
IBEDC announced the development in a power outage notice issued by its Ogun Region on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.
According to the electricity distribution company, the fault occurred on the Owode Line 1 and Imeko 33kV feeders, disrupting electricity supply to customers connected to the affected lines.
“Kindly be informed that due to a technical fault affecting the Owode Line 1 and Imeko 33kV feeders, the following communities/customers are experiencing a power outage: Slab Petrol Station, MAPOLY, B & Y Hotel, White House Hotel, Rock Face Hotel, Kings Hotel, Mafiz Royal Hotel, Upright Hotel, Ogun-Osun River Basin, Olomore, Lafenwa, Adehun, Rounder, Abule Sikiru, Orelope, Ifetedo, Sabo, Alamala Barracks, Alamutu, Akinolugbade, Kolobo, Oriyanrin, Agbena, Agejo, Saraki, Adigbe, Kuforiji, Ita Eko, Panseke, Soyoye and environs.”
Other establishments and communities listed in the notice are expected to remain affected while efforts are made to address the technical problem.
IBEDC said it was coordinating with other partners within the electricity supply chain to track the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.

The company also apologised to customers experiencing the disruption and acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the outage.
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience,” the company said.
