Nigerian singer Dapo Oyebanjo, popularly known as D’Banj, has donated three brand-new Sienna buses to lawyer and politician Pelumi Olajengbesi to support his ambition to represent the Oriade-Obokun Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives in 2027.
The singer presented the vehicles to Olajengbesi in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, on Thursday.
Olajengbesi announced the gesture in a Facebook post on Friday, describing the donation as an unexpected but significant show of support from the music star.
He explained that D’Banj had contacted him about two weeks earlier to request the details of the person handling his campaign branding.
According to Olajengbesi, he assumed the singer needed the contact for his CREAM initiative, which supports young creatives, and provided the details without knowing what was being planned.
He said he was later surprised when three Sienna buses, fully branded for his campaign, were delivered to him.
“It’s my token of support,” Olajengbesi quoted D’Banj as saying when he reached out to the singer after receiving the vehicles.
Expressing his appreciation, Olajengbesi described the donation as a major gesture of encouragement for his political ambition.
The development comes as Olajengbesi continues his campaign to secure the Oriade-Obokun Federal Constituency seat ahead of the 2027 general election.
Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, had also previously endorsed Olajengbesi’s ambition.
