Yoruba actress Jumoke Odetola has revealed that she is beginning a new phase of her life after answering what she described as God’s call to ministry.
The actress shared the announcement on her Instagram page on Saturday after receiving several calls and messages from fans, friends, colleagues and family members who were concerned about her recent social media posts.
Odetola said the reactions showed that people had noticed a change in her and wanted to know whether she was going through any difficulty.
“Jumoke, your recent posts… Are you okay? Is everything alright? I truly appreciate the numerous calls, messages & concerns of my friends, family, colleagues. Thank you so much. I feel seen, cared for and loved. Yes, something is going on in my life… but nothing is wrong with me,” she wrote.
Explaining the reason behind the change, the actress said she had entered a new season centred on her faith and would now serve as a minister and preacher of the gospel.
“I am entering a new season with God. I am now a minister of God. I am now a preacher of the gospel. Yes! You heard right! A minister,” she stated.
Odetola disclosed that she initially considered keeping her decision private but later changed her mind to prevent speculation about her new activities.
“I have been contemplating whether I should be private about it, but how can I be private about preaching the gospel when you could just see me on your street with my bell preaching the gospel? Let me bring myself out before anyone records me & brings me out,” she said.

The actress also acknowledged that beginning the new journey would require spiritual support and asked her loved ones and followers to pray for her.
“I need all the prayers in this new season. I need all the prayers in this season. When God compels you, you may delay, but you cannot escape the call,” she added.
