The Nigerian Army has cautioned Nigerians against a fraudulent recruitment notice circulating on social media, claiming that applications for the 92 Regular Recruitment Intake have opened.
The warning was issued in a statement signed by the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Directorate of Recruitment, Captain AU Hammanga, and shared on X on Wednesday.
According to the Army, the publication making the rounds online is not genuine and should not be acted upon.
“The publication is false and should be disregarded in its entirety,” the Army stated.
The military explained that it follows an official process for announcing recruitment exercises and other related activities. It urged prospective applicants to depend only on verified Army communication platforms for updates concerning recruitment.
“The Nigerian Army maintains a clear and official procedure for announcing recruitment exercises and related activities and will duly inform the public through its official channels once the portal for 92 Regular Recruitment Intake is formally opened,” the statement said.
The Army’s warning comes amid concerns that the fake announcement could be used by fraudsters to target unemployed Nigerians and other job seekers seeking opportunities to join the military.
Members of the public were therefore advised to verify recruitment information through the Army’s authorised platforms before submitting personal details, applications or making any payments.

The Nigerian Army also reiterated its commitment to ensuring that its recruitment exercises are conducted in an open and professional manner.
“The Nigerian Army remains committed to transparency and professionalism in all recruitment processes,” it stated.
The Army urged prospective applicants to disregard the circulating notice until an official announcement is made confirming the commencement of applications for the 92 Regular Recruitment Intake.
