President Bola Tinubu is set to begin a three-week vacation on Sunday, according to his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Tinubu is expected to leave Abuja later in the day for Europe, where he will spend the period on what the Presidency described as a “working vacation”.
Onanuga disclosed that the president’s first destination would be London, United Kingdom.
“His first stop will be London, United Kingdom,” the presidential spokesperson said.
He added that Tinubu would return to Nigeria after the break to resume his political engagements ahead of the 2027 general election.
“President Tinubu is expected to return home after the working vacation to join the hectic campaign for the January 2027 election,” Onanuga said.
The latest holiday follows the president’s 10-day annual leave in September 2025, which was also described as a working vacation. During that period, Tinubu spent time in the United Kingdom and France.

The president’s 2026 leave also comes shortly after Vice-President Kashim Shettima concluded a two-week vacation.
Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications in the Office of the Vice-President, had described Shettima’s break as his first vacation since taking office.
Shettima, however, returned to Nigeria on August 18, two days earlier than initially expected.
