Pelumi Olajengbesi, spokesperson for Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke’s campaign, has threatened to file a ₦10 billion lawsuit against Senator Francis Fadahunsi over alleged defamation and injurious falsehood.
Olajengbesi’s lawyer, Hammed Lasisi, issued the threat in a letter dated August 12, 2026, and addressed to Fadahunsi, who represents Osun East Senatorial District.
The letter accused the senator of making allegedly damaging remarks about Olajengbesi during television interviews on Viable TV on July 2 and Channels Television’s Politics Today on August 11.
According to the lawyer, the statements were malicious and had the potential to damage Olajengbesi’s reputation.
The letter demanded that Fadahunsi immediately withdraw the statements and issue an unequivocal public apology within 24 hours, failing which legal action would follow.
It cited comments made by the senator during a July 2 interview on Viable TV, which was later circulated across several social media platforms.
The letter stated, “During the said interview, you launched a direct attack on the identity, character and reputation of our Client by stating, among other things, that our Client was ‘not even from the same Ijebu-Jesha’ and was ‘from somewhere in Ogun State.’ You further accused him of ‘using thugs, Eiye and Aye.’”
Olajengbesi’s lawyer argued that the remarks questioned his client’s identity and claimed they also suggested that he was involved with alleged cult groups.
“These statements directly questioned our Client’s identity and origin as a son of Ijebu-Jesa and, more gravely, imputed that he sponsors, associates with and/or deploys thugs and members of the Eiye and Aye cult groups in furtherance of his political activities,” the letter said.
The lawyer also referred to comments Fadahunsi allegedly made during his August 11 appearance on Politics Today while discussing the late Ajayi Aderogba, popularly known as Rogba.

The senator was quoted as saying: “Rogba is an Eiye man sponsored by Barr. Olajengbesi terrorising the whole … my own territory up and down through all these Eiye and Aye.”
Olajengbesi’s lawyer said the statement carried the “natural, ordinary and unmistakable meaning” that his client allegedly sponsored, financed or supported members of the Eiye and Aye groups and used them to terrorise members of the public.
The letter warned that unless the alleged statements were withdrawn and an apology issued within the stipulated period, Olajengbesi would proceed with the ₦10 billion defamation and injurious falsehood claim against the senator.
