The family of late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba has shared fresh details about her final hours, alleging that the actress repeatedly expressed fears that she would die on the day she eventually passed away.
Osoba’s maternal aunt, Pejuola Ogunesan, made the disclosure during an interview with actor Kunle Afod on Sunday alongside another relative, Dupe.
Her account comes amid conflicting claims over what happened to the actress before her death, following earlier comments by her fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko.
Pejuola said Osoba contacted her despite their strained relationship and told her that she believed she would die that day. She said the actress also claimed that Onadeko had told her that an obituary would be published for her.
“When she called me that she was going to die that day, although we were not on good terms after she left Evercare Hospital in Lekki with her fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, and actress Foluke Daramola in 2023,” she said.
According to Pejuola, the family had fallen out with Osoba after she accused them of taking her phone away while she was preparing for breast cancer surgery. She said the actress subsequently blocked several family members.
“We tried calling her and discovered that she had blocked all of us. Since then, I swore never to have anything to do with her again. I called my elder sister, whom she had also called, and we headed for the police station where she was.”
Pejuola said Osoba identified her and her sister as her aunties when they arrived at the police station.
She explained that Osoba had reportedly been experiencing disturbing dreams and believed she was seeing monsters and her fiancé. According to her, the actress was planning to visit a prophetess, Kehinde Osoba, whom she regarded as a family member, after being advised to seek spiritual help.
“She (Temitope) would complain of not being able to sleep, seeing monsters and the fiancé. Now that Aunty Peju is here, she would die. She mentioned that the fiancé had told her that they would post her obituary that day,” the aunt said.

Pejuola also alleged that Osoba jumped out of a vehicle after officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority stopped another vehicle ahead of them.
She said the actress told one of the officials that she did not know where she was being taken and requested that they be taken to a police station instead.
According to the aunt, Osoba subsequently made several allegations against Onadeko, including claims of humiliation and abuse. She further alleged that the actress told her the prophet had relationships with other women and had instructed her to leave his residence and make it appear as though they had separated for two months.
Pejuola said Osoba eventually stayed with her hairstylist and also told the family that she had suffered three miscarriages, despite previously being advised against becoming pregnant for five years after her surgery.
The family later contacted the prophetess Osoba intended to visit. Pejuola said the woman asked them not to bring the actress to her church and promised to pick her up after her programme.
However, after waiting for several hours, the family reportedly found the church locked and could not reach the prophetess.
Osoba was subsequently taken to another church, where prayers were offered after she became increasingly distressed.
“She was just saying that the guy said she would die today,” Pejuola added.
The aunt said Osoba later stayed with the family but her condition continued to deteriorate. She reportedly made a social media post titled “Ogo tuntun” (new glory), sent messages to several people and complained that she was uncomfortable.
When her condition worsened, the family rushed her to a hospital. Pejuola said they were eventually referred to Ogun State University Teaching Hospital.
“When we got there, they referred us to OSUTH. Suddenly, she just defecated in the car. Her head suddenly dropped. Before we could get to the emergency, she was confirmed dead,” she said.
The family’s account comes shortly after Onadeko gave his own version of events surrounding Osoba’s death and disputed claims that she died from complications related to her previous battle with breast cancer. He had also alleged that he was informed she died at a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
The differing accounts have raised further questions about Osoba’s movements, her relationship with those around her and the events leading up to her death.
Osoba, who appeared in several Nollywood productions, died at the age of 40. Her burial is scheduled to take place in Iperu-Remo, Ogun State, where family members, friends and colleagues are expected to gather.
