Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that he is a devoted fan of Portuguese football icon Cristiano Ronaldo, claiming that the pair communicate regularly.
The singer made the disclosure during a livestream with content creator and streamer Carter Efe, where he spoke about his support for Portugal during the recently concluded 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to Davido, his backing for the Portuguese national team was influenced by his friendship with several of its players.
“Because I have a lot of friends in the Portuguese team. I want Portugal to win,” Davido said.
When Carter Efe suggested that his support was mainly because of Ronaldo, the singer replied, “I love Ronaldo, I’m a CR7 fan.”
Davido went on to claim that he frequently exchanges messages with the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
Speaking in Pidgin English, he said he talks to the “legend back to back.”
The singer also showed Carter Efe what appeared to be a chat conversation with Ronaldo on his phone during the livestream.
Reacting to the moment, Carter Efe repeatedly exclaimed:
“God, I don mad! I don mad! I don mad! I don mad!”

The video has since gained traction across social media platforms, attracting widespread reactions from fans.
Davido has long been known for his passion for football and has previously been seen spending time with several international football stars.
However, the authenticity of the alleged conversation displayed during the livestream could not be independently verified.
