Veteran Nollywood actress Eucharia Anunobi has appealed to Nigerians to support fellow actress Ngozi Nwosu as she seeks funds for three life-saving surgeries.
Speaking during a church service, the 61-year-old actress knelt before the congregation while making an emotional appeal, urging worshippers and members of the public to contribute towards Nwosu’s medical treatment.
Anunobi stressed the urgency of the actress’s condition, describing her as one of Nigeria’s acting legends whose contributions to the entertainment industry should not be forgotten.
“You know Ngozi Nwosu, she is down and she has to do surgery, three surgeries. She is in need of N30 million. I’m sure most of you have seen it on the internet,” she said.
“I’m using God to beg you. She has added joy to this nation. These are legends of acting, but she is getting older and sickness wants to take her life before her time.”
Earlier this month, Nwosu disclosed that she had been admitted to hospital and needed three surgical procedures to survive, prompting an outpouring of support from fans and well-wishers.
One of those who responded was Alex Otti, who fulfilled his promise by paying N25 million directly to the hospital where the actress is receiving treatment.
Although the donation significantly reduced the financial burden, Nwosu still requires an additional N5 million to cover the full cost of the surgeries.
In her earlier appeal, the actress pleaded with Nigerians not to abandon her during the difficult period.

“Please, the thing has gone beyond my control. I need your help. Don’t let me die. I have like three surgeries to go through. Please, don’t let me die,” she had said.
She also encouraged anyone willing to support her treatment to reach out to her management team, noting that the surgeries are expected to cost a total of N30 million.
