Nollywood actress Bose Aregbesola has addressed the long-standing misconception that she is married to fellow actor Segun Ogungbe, saying the confusion has persisted because of the many romantic roles they played together on screen.
Speaking in an interview with Biola Bayo, the actress said she is still regularly mistaken for Ogungbe’s wife whenever she attends social gatherings.
“To this day, people still think I am the wife of Segun Ogungbe. They will say Segun’s wife. I am tired of having to explain myself. When I go to parties, they still ask about him. They will say, ‘How about your husband?’ We did the work back-to-back, and played the lead. We played the role of a couple in all.
“That really helped me. God blessed me through him, and I appreciate it.”
Aregbesola also reflected on her late husband, describing him as a supportive partner who had complete confidence in her despite attempts by some people to create problems in their marriage.
She recounted how an anonymous caller once contacted her husband, claiming she was in a hotel, but said he never allowed such allegations to affect their relationship.

“People will say your husband trusts you. One day, someone called him from a hidden number, saying I was in a hotel. A man’s trust is something that’s important. He is someone that likes our work. When I’m called for work, even if it’s midnight, he has driven me there. A lot had happened in our marriage that could have separated us. We had no problems in our marriage until he passed away. The sickness lasted for just seven days.”
The actress disclosed that her husband died after a brief illness that lasted only a week.
Speaking about the state of the movie industry, Aregbesola said Nollywood has become highly competitive, urging actors to remain grateful for every opportunity they receive.
“God should help us in our profession. The industry is saturated. So, appreciate it if you’re seen.”
