The Federal Capital Territory High Court in Apo has ordered the permanent forfeiture of assets linked to businesswoman and Oceangate Engineering Oil & Gas Ltd founder, Aisha Achimugu, to the Federal Government.
Justice Jude Onwugbuzie issued the ruling on Thursday after granting an application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The assets forfeited include jewellery valued at N4.645 billion, 11 luxury vehicles worth N4.293 billion, $50,000 in cash and N30 million.
Achimugu first attracted widespread public attention in January 2024 after hosting an elaborate seven-day celebration for her 50th birthday on the Caribbean Island of Grenada. The event was attended by several Nigerian entertainers and other prominent personalities.
More than a year later, the EFCC declared her wanted over alleged money laundering offences. She was subsequently arrested on April 29, 2025, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
The latest ruling follows an earlier judgment delivered in March 2026, when the Federal High Court in Abuja ordered the final forfeiture of $13 million allegedly connected to Achimugu and Oceangate Engineering Oil & Gas Ltd.

In that case, Justice Emeka Nwite held that the anti-graft agency had successfully established that the funds were proceeds of fraudulent activities.
Following the judgment, Oceangate Engineering Oil & Gas Ltd announced that it had begun the process of appealing the forfeiture order.
The case has also attracted political attention, with reports alleging that Achimugu received backing from some politicians, claims that surfaced amid the EFCC’s investigation into the assets linked to her.
