Afrobeats star Davido, born David Adeleke, has urged aspiring musicians to remain grounded in their faith and maintain discipline even after achieving fame, warning that success in the entertainment industry comes with many distractions.
Speaking in an interview with Kiss Xtra, which began trending on Friday, the singer encouraged young artistes to believe in themselves, stay consistent with their craft and not lose sight of the principles that guided their journey.
He explained that hard work, passion and continuous learning played a major role in his rise in the music industry.
“My advice for up-and-coming artistes is first of all, believe in yourself. I worked on my craft so much. I loved music so much that I just wanted to get better every time. When I was young, I was learning from YouTube and the people around me,” he said.

Davido further stressed the importance of spirituality, urging artistes to keep God at the centre of their success, especially when fame arrives.
“Secondly, love what you do and put God first and close, especially when you make it because there are so many distractions that can make you forget He is the reason you are here,” he added.
