The Oyo State Police Command has confirmed the rescue of Olaide John-Paul, the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, alongside her twin sons after they were abducted in Ibadan, the state capital.
The victims reportedly regained freedom on Saturday after spending three days in captivity following their abduction by armed men on Wednesday morning.
Police spokesperson, Olayinka Olushola, confirmed their release in a brief message to TheCable, saying: “Yes they have been rescued unhurt.”
According to reports, John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, were kidnapped at about 7:30am while she was on her way to drop them at school.
A family aide, Femi Awogboro, had earlier explained that the incident occurred when they were ambushed by gunmen in Ibadan.

John-Paul, who is the youngest of Olufunmilayo Adelabu’s five children, previously worked with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and First Bank Pension Custodian before retiring voluntarily last year.
She had since relocated to Ibadan with her children while making plans to join her husband in the United States.
The police said further details regarding the rescue operation would be made public later.
Their release comes amid growing concerns over insecurity in Oyo State, where more than 40 pupils and teachers from schools in Ogbomosho, Oriire Local Government Area, remain in captivity 22 days after being abducted on May 15.
