Celebrity businessman Cubana Chief Priest has claimed that his public fallout with Afrobeats singer Burna Boy was triggered by his close friendship with fellow music star Davido.
Speaking during a chat on The Beat 99.9 FM, the socialite explained that success often comes with envy and criticism, especially when people begin to notice financial growth.
According to him, his rise did not happen overnight, as he built himself through years of apprenticeship, hard work and perseverance.
“Success comes with a lot of hate. I started my journey from apprenticeship and service and I learnt so much about growth and perseverance. When you start becoming successful, you understand how people treat you,” he said.
Cubana Chief Priest alleged that Burna Boy publicly targeted him online and questioned the legitimacy of his wealth.
“I was on my own and Burna Boy came for me, went on his big platform and started tweeting things that are not genuine, things that are not possible, things that have not existed and the attack was straight to my wealth,” he stated.
“So he wanted to make people look at my wealth, disrespect my wealth, I felt bad and that happened because of my relationship with Davido.”
The nightlife entrepreneur went on to praise Davido for always supporting his businesses and showing loyalty over the years.
