A 30-year-old aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, Mahmud Sadis Buba, has stepped down from the race for the Sabon Gari federal constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
Buba, who is living with disability, announced his withdrawal in a letter addressed to the APC chairman in Kaduna State, stating that the decision takes immediate effect.
According to the former aspirant, his withdrawal followed reconciliation efforts initiated by party leaders and stakeholders.
“This was not an easy decision. But it was hastened by the reconciliation efforts initiated by stakeholders and leaders of our party,” he said.
Buba explained that he arrived at the decision after consultations with his family, political allies and party stakeholders.
He stressed that supporting a consensus candidate was important for the party’s chances in the forthcoming election.
“I believe that uniting behind a single candidate is paramount to our victory in the general election and for the continued progress of our constituency and state,” he added.
The APC member also expressed appreciation to Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani and the party leadership in the state for giving him the opportunity to participate in the nomination process.
“The experience has been enriching, and I am grateful for the immense support from my constituents and supporters throughout this journey,” he stated.

Buba reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and pledged to support whoever emerges as the party’s candidate.
“My withdrawal is not a sign of weakness, but a sacrifice for the greater good of the party,” he said.
“I assure you that I remain a faithful party member and am committed to working tirelessly to ensure the victory of the party’s consensus candidate and the party at large at the polls.”
He also appealed to his supporters to remain peaceful and align with the party’s decision.
“I ask my supporters to remain calm, united, and to throw their full weight behind the party’s decision and whoever emerges as the party’s candidate,” he added.
Popularly known as Abin Al-Ajabin Zazzau, Buba gained public attention after successfully passing the APC screening process for the Sabon Gari federal constituency contest.
His ambition also generated debate online following allegations of age falsification linked to conflicting personal documents circulated on social media, although the party did not officially sanction or indict him over the claims.
Buba had sought to challenge Sadiq Ango Abdullahi, who won the seat in 2023 under the Peoples Democratic Party before later defecting to the APC.
