Nigerian singer and actor Banky W has shared details about his relationship journey with his wife, actress Adesua Etomi, revealing how he once believed she was his life partner long before she felt the same way.
Speaking in an interview with Teju Babyface, Banky W recalled that after several unsuccessful attempts, he decided to step back emotionally and leave the decision to God.
He said he was convinced Adesua was the one, but chose not to pressure her into the relationship.
“I was like, I’m not talking to her again. Maybe because of all the hearts I have broken, God has now sent somebody to break my heart.
I went to God and said, ‘I feel like this is my wife, but she can’t see it. If you want us together, go and tell her.
I vowed that if she didn’t come to that conclusion herself, I would not bring it up again,” he said.
Banky W added that things eventually changed when Adesua came to the same conclusion and reached out to him.
“Banky, you know you’re my husband, right?”
He said he had already been emotionally prepared, noting that he had known her for about a year and a half while waiting for her to come around.

“I’ve known for a year and a half, I’ve just been waiting for you to catch up,” he added.
Adesua Etomi also reflected on their marriage, noting that despite being nearly a decade together, their bond remains strong and affectionate.
She revealed that they still hold hands often and even sleep with their feet touching.
She also recalled her earlier expectations about marriage, saying she never wanted to marry a musician, pastor, or politician, but ended up with all three in one person.
“This year, in October, our marriage will be 10 years, and we still hold each other’s hands together unconsciously all the time; we sleep together with our feet touching each other. Before I met my husband, I told God I didn’t want to marry a musician, a pastor or a politician, but God gave me all three,” she said.
