British-Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua is scheduled to return to action on July 25, when he faces Albania’s Kristian Prenga in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The bout will mark Joshua’s first appearance in the ring since a tragic car accident in December 2025 that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.
The former heavyweight champion was travelling in an SUV with the two men while returning from Lagos to Sagamu in Ogun State when the vehicle reportedly crashed into the rear of a parked truck along the Sinoma axis near Sagamu.
Joshua survived the crash with minor injuries, but his friends, Kevin Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami, died at the scene.
Before the incident, Joshua had competed in an exhibition fight against Jake Paul, which he won via sixth-round knockout. The crash occurred just days after that bout.

The upcoming fight against Prenga is being viewed as a tune-up contest ahead of a potential high-profile showdown with Tyson Fury.
Joshua and Fury have long been linked with a heavyweight clash, with negotiations for a fight reportedly still ongoing for a possible date later in the year.
