British-Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua has responded sharply to heavyweight rival Tyson Fury following Fury’s latest victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov, reigniting talks of a potential blockbuster showdown.
Joshua was present at Tottenham’s London Stadium on Saturday night as Fury returned from a 16-month retirement to secure a unanimous decision win after 12 rounds, marking his 35th career victory.
Following the fight, Fury publicly called out Joshua for a long-anticipated clash.
“I want you, AJ, Anthony Joshua,” Fury said. “Let’s give the fight fans what they want — the Battle of Britain. I challenge you to fight me, the Gypsy King, next. Do you accept my challenge?”
However, Joshua, 36, did not hold back in his response, dismissing Fury and insisting he should not dictate terms for the proposed fight.
“Tyson, you are a clout-chaser. I’ve never had no problem getting in a ring with you—I punched you up as kids [in training]. Watching you tonight, I’ll punch you up again,” Joshua said.
He added that Fury should focus on his recent return before attempting to set conditions for a fight.

“With all due respect, tonight is your night. You won’t tell me what to do. I’ve been chasing you the last 10 years. When you’re ready, you come and see me and tell me your terms and conditions. I’m the boss. You work for me. I’m the landlord. You work for me.”
Joshua holds a professional record of 29 wins, including 26 knockouts, and 4 defeats. His most recent outing was an exhibition win over YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, while he previously lost a title challenge to Daniel Dubois in 2024.
