British politician of Nigerian descent, Kemi Badenoch, has been ranked as the most popular political party leader in the United Kingdom, according to a recent opinion poll.
The survey conducted by More in Common and reported by the Daily Mail showed that Badenoch recorded a net approval rating of minus nine, a notable improvement from the minus 32 she had before her party’s conference in October last year.
Badenoch, who currently leads the Conservative Party, ranked ahead of other political figures, including Nigel Farage, who scored minus 16, and Ed Davey, who recorded minus 11.
The poll also placed Prime Minister Keir Starmer at the bottom of the rankings with a minus 42 rating. Other figures, including Green Party politician Zack Polanski, also scored minus 16.
According to the report, Badenoch’s rising popularity may be tied to her increasing visibility and more active role in political discussions in recent months.

The UK Director of More in Common, Luke Tryl, noted that public awareness of Badenoch has grown significantly.
“Whereas last summer we’d run whole focus groups where no one would know who Kemi was, she is often now brought up spontaneously, and even some of those who would never vote Tory say they admire her conviction and straightforwardness,” he told The Sunday Times.
Despite the improvement in her personal approval ratings, the poll indicated that the Conservative Party has not yet experienced a similar increase in overall public support.
