Nigerian singer Simi and her husband, Adekunle Gold, have expanded their family with the arrival of their second child.
The couple made the announcement via Instagram, where Simi shared beautiful maternity photos of the pair dressed in matching denim outfits. She also revealed that the baby was born on March 10, 2026, while indirectly dispelling earlier rumours suggesting she had welcomed twins.
“+1. 3.10.26. God bless my little family #mommyof2,” she wrote, confirming she is now a mother of two, although she did not disclose the baby’s gender or name.
The joyful news follows weeks of public speculation, during which Simi had taken a break from social media after facing backlash over resurfaced old tweets. The controversy initially began after her outspoken comments against rape, but later escalated when past posts resurfaced and drew criticism online.

Simi later explained that the tweets had been taken out of context and were never meant to cause harm, as discussions around the issue continued to gain attention. Reports also indicated that authorities considered reviewing the matter, though the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) noted that it would be difficult to proceed without sufficient evidence.
The couple, who got married in January 2019, welcomed their first child, Adejare, in 2020. Over the years, they have remained one of Nigeria’s most admired celebrity couples, with fans and colleagues celebrating the latest addition to their family.
