Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has strongly condemned the recent killings in Plateau State, describing the incident as yet another sign of Nigeria’s failure to protect its citizens.
In a statement shared on her Facebook page on Monday, the lawmaker expressed concern over the continued violence in Plateau communities, where repeated attacks have claimed numerous lives in recent months.
She directed her message to the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, reminding him of the assurances he gave during his Senate screening and calling for those promises to translate into real security outcomes.
“Dear General Christopher Musa, Angwan Rukuba is another brutal reminder that Nigerians remain unprotected.
“During your screening at the Senate chambers, your words were filled with promises and I allowed myself a sigh of relief… at last, I thought.”
The senator urged immediate and decisive action from security authorities, warning that failure to act should lead to reconsideration of leadership.

“Well, prove NOW you are different and secure lives, or step aside.
Enough of condolences. Enough of excuses. Nigerians want action, protection, and results!!,” she added.
The attack, which occurred on Sunday night in Jos, reportedly involved armed men on motorcycles who stormed the area and killed several residents.
According to the Plateau State Police Command, 12 people lost their lives in the incident, including 10 men and two women, as investigations continue into the attack.
