Sunday Esan, the Chief Executive Officer of Okiki Films and Records International, has officially unveiled a new film village in Ibadan, Oyo State, in a move aimed at boosting indigenous storytelling and preserving African culture.
The facility, known as Okiki Films Village, is located on a seven-acre expanse of land at Idi Ori, Onidundu in Akinyele Local Government Area. It features traditional mud houses and symbolic African designs, offering filmmakers a culturally rich environment for authentic productions.
The project is designed to promote African heritage while providing a dedicated space for epic storytelling rooted in tradition. It is also expected to serve as a hub for filmmakers seeking to create culturally grounded content.
Announcing the development via Instagram, Esan described the initiative as a major step forward for indigenous filmmaking.
