Nollywood actress Remi Surutu has publicly declared her support for Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.
She made this known during the unveiling of EKO57, a political support group established to mobilise backing for Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
Speaking at the event, Surutu responded to those who have criticised her political stance, stressing that her allegiance to Tinubu is not new but dates back to his time as governor of Lagos State.
The actress also recalled the backlash she encountered during the 2023 elections, revealing that some individuals attempted to discourage her from voting.
“A day before the election, people tried to convince me that I was supporting someone responsible for my child’s death. I ignored it and still went out to vote the next day. Your vote is your right don’t let anyone intimidate you,” she stated.
Despite the criticism, Surutu maintained that her support for the President remains firm, adding that she would actively participate in his re-election campaign.
“He has my vote, and I am standing by him. Anyone trying to scare people or discourage them from supporting him should know that I am not afraid,” she added.

Surutu also praised the involvement of the President’s family, highlighting what she described as their dedication to national service.
“This man does not sleep. His wife and son are constantly on the move, serving the nation. How many politicians’ families are this engaged?” she said.
While acknowledging the country’s current struggles, the actress suggested that some of the issues stem from the attitudes of Nigerians themselves, expressing confidence in Tinubu’s ability to steer the nation forward.
