Afrobeats star Davido has reportedly unfollowed Nigerian media mogul Dele Momodu on Instagram, a move that has intensified public attention on the ongoing tension between the singer and the Momodu family.
The digital fallout, which occurred on February 20, 2026, followed Momodu’s recent public comments suggesting efforts were underway to privately resolve Davido’s family dispute. The action has been widely viewed as a sign of Davido’s displeasure and a possible collapse of behind-the-scenes mediation.
Momodu, who is currently in Liberia, had earlier taken to Instagram to share that fans approached him, urging him to intervene in the situation. He claimed Davido remains highly celebrated in the country and noted that supporters of both parties were hopeful for reconciliation.
“Here in Liberia, @davido is treated as the god of music,” he wrote. “I’ve been visiting here for over two decades but this visit is different. I came to commiserate with my friend and Sister, former Vice President H.E DR JEWEL HOWARD-TAYLOR on the passing of her only child, CHARLES PHILIP NEILSON TAYLOR JR.”
He further disclosed that a fashion designer had appealed to him to step in and resolve the conflict.
“One of them is this ‘fashion designer’ @lorine.doe who said I should step in and settle the ‘quarrels,’” Momodu said. “My dear Sister, thanks so much. Nothing to worry about. Everything is going to be alright… We are working behind the scenes. Pls, keep everyone in your prayers…”

However, Davido appeared to take offence at the public mention of private efforts, as fans soon noticed that he had unfollowed Momodu. Screenshots of his updated following list quickly circulated online, fueling further speculation.
The development comes amid the singer’s ongoing legal battle over the custody of his daughter, Imade. Sources close to the artiste say Davido prefers to handle personal matters strictly through formal legal channels rather than public intervention.
