Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, was on Monday involved in another tense encounter at the National Assembly, this time at the office of Senator Titus Zam, who represents Benue North-West and chairs the Senate Committee on the North Central Development Commission.
Sources within the legislature disclosed that the incident occurred shortly after a budget defence session held by the committee earlier in the day.
The meeting, which was scheduled to begin at 10 a.m., had reportedly concluded before Akpoti-Uduaghan arrived. On discovering that the session had already ended, she was said to have gone to the committee chairman’s office alongside her legislative aides to seek clarification.
Eyewitnesses claimed that tensions escalated when she was reportedly denied access to the office, resulting in a heated confrontation involving staff members and individuals in her entourage.

During the ensuing commotion, one of the senator’s aides was alleged to have physically engaged a staff member attached to the chairman’s office, prompting the intervention of security operatives.
National Assembly security personnel eventually restored calm, though the exact cause of the altercation has yet to be clearly established.
