Nigerian music superstar Davido, born David Adeleke, has been cheered on by his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, following his defeat at the 2026 Grammy Awards.

The ‘Timeless’ singer shared his feelings on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, posting photos from the ceremony with a message in pidgin English: “Oluwa Dey my side,” which translates to “God is on my side.”

Governor Adeleke, a longtime supporter of Davido’s musical journey, responded with words of encouragement, writing, “Proud of you always @davido.”

Davido replied warmly to his uncle’s message, saying, “Love u Excellency!!! We move ACCORDINGLY SIR.”

The singer had been nominated in the Best African Music Performance category for his collaboration on “With You” featuring Omah Lay but lost to South African artist Tyla, who claimed her second win in the category, having previously won with “Water” when the award was first introduced.

Despite the setback, the DMW boss remains optimistic, drawing strength from his faith and the support of his family and loved ones.
