President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday momentarily lost his footing during a ceremonial march-past held in his honour at the parade ground in Türkiye.
The brief stumble happened as the President stepped forward to inspect the guard of honour, briefly drawing attention before activities resumed seamlessly without affecting the event.
Tinubu is in Türkiye on an official visit aimed at strengthening the long-standing diplomatic ties between Nigeria and Türkiye, while identifying new areas of collaboration to advance shared economic and strategic interests.
As part of the visit, the President is expected to engage in bilateral discussions with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, focusing on trade relations, security cooperation, investment opportunities and regional affairs.
Several memoranda of understanding are also scheduled to be signed between both countries, alongside other top-level official engagements. In addition, a business forum will take place on the sidelines of the visit, bringing together Nigerian and Turkish investors to explore avenues for economic partnership.
Top Nigerian government officials who welcomed the President at his hotel include the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN); the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake; and the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd).
