In the interview granted HipTV, former Big Brother Nigeria housemate, Gifty said she was 19 when she got married to Nollywood movie director/producer, David Sorochukwu Akumah aka Sodafaces.
Was Gifty really 19 years when she got married?
According to a Facebook post by her husband’s cousin, Augustine Akumah, Gifty got married in 2014.
He wrote:
“In their wedding on 6th April 2014, our former Governor His Excellency Senator DR. SAM EGWU was in attendance alongside other important government dignitaries at Assemblies of God Church Odunukwe in Abakaliki followed by a grand wedding reception at WDC Hall in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State (#VERIFY- Please you are free to ask your friends around Abakaliki because it was a huge wedding).” (sic)
Is she saying she is now 22 years old? Raised by her mother, who lived in Liberia, Gifty denied ever getting married even after her cousin-in-law Augustine revealed it. Now that she has accepted the fact that she was a wife, she revealed that the bride price had been returned.
