Senior Pastor of Harvesters International Christian Centre, Bolaji Idowu, has announced a financial support initiative for church members who are actively serving but currently without jobs.

The pastor made the disclosure during a church service on Sunday, explaining that the programme is designed to offer temporary financial relief to affected members as they seek new employment.

According to Idowu, eligible members will receive ₦50,000 each month for a period of three months.

“All those that serve in church that are in between jobs — you used to have a job and you lost it — for the next three months, we’ll be giving you ₦50,000 every month to help them until they get their next job,” he said.

He noted that the scheme covers leaders and members rendering service in different departments of the church, stressing the importance of mutual support within the Christian community.

“So all of those leaders that serve in church that I just mentioned, we’re giving ₦50,000 just to help them stabilise. One of the things the church should do is to be there for one another, to help them stabilise,” Idowu added.

The cleric also encouraged qualified members to register with the church leadership, assuring them that the process would be straightforward due to the trust established through their service.

“If you’re in that category, you should see your pastor and the church administration and register. We’re not going to do so many interviews because for you to serve, we trust that you are honest,” he said.

The announcement was greeted with applause from the congregation, with many members describing the initiative as timely assistance amid growing economic challenges and unemployment pressures.
