Residents of Ajah and neighbouring communities in Lagos are set to enjoy a week-long free medical outreach organised to mark the 86th birthday of renowned Nigerian industrialist, philanthropist and Chairman of Eleganza Group of Companies, Chief (Dr.) Razaq Okoya.
The programme, titled “Okoya @ 86 Medical Outreach,” is part of the business mogul’s long-standing dedication to humanitarian service, community development and improved access to healthcare.
The exercise will hold from Monday, January 5 to Monday, January 12, 2026, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. daily, at Oluwaninsola Estate, opposite Eleganza Bus Stop, along the Lekki–Ajah Expressway, Lagos.
Speaking on the initiative in celebration of his birthday, Okoya explained that the outreach represents his personal contribution to the wellbeing of the communities where he lives and operates, stressing the central role of good healthcare in human dignity and productivity.
“This is a step towards our enduring commitment to health, dignity, and well-being, in appreciation of the community where I reside,” he said.
“Most importantly, health is wealth. This is my token of appreciation to Almighty Allah for preserving my life to see another year. I will be 86 years old in January 2026, which is a milestone, and I am healthy and happy.”
He further emphasised that his lifelong philosophy is rooted in the belief that a healthy population is essential for sustainable development.

“I so strongly believe that good health is essential to life. I have been in the manufacturing industry for over six decades, providing employment opportunities for teeming young Nigerians, while Eleganza products continue to enjoy wide patronage. By providing access to healthcare, we are improving productivity and prioritising societal sustainability. Everybody deserves the opportunity to thrive and live a healthy life,” Okoya stated.
The medical outreach is projected to serve more than 1,000 beneficiaries and will feature a wide range of healthcare services, including general medical consultations, blood pressure and blood sugar checks, HIV testing, eye examinations with corrective glasses where necessary, dental services, breast and prostate cancer screening, health education, wellness counselling, and referrals for further treatment. Free medications will also be provided, alongside guidance to help participants better understand their health conditions.
Beyond healthcare, Okoya’s philanthropic activities extend to religion, education and social welfare. Years ago, he built a mosque in honour of his late mother, which has grown into a major centre of worship within the community, attracting up to 500 worshippers every Friday, with bread regularly distributed as part of his charitable outreach.
Eleganza Group of Companies remains one of Nigeria’s leading employers of labour, providing jobs for thousands across its manufacturing and commercial ventures. Through the Okoya Foundation, support has also been extended to the education sector, with several undergraduates benefiting from the Alhaji Akanni Okoya Scholarship Awards.
Over the years, Okoya has also donated life-saving medical equipment to hospitals and health institutions nationwide, reinforcing his conviction that serving humanity is a sacred duty.
Born on January 12, 1940, the Aare of Lagos is the founder of Eleganza Group of Companies and RAO Investment Properties, with business interests spanning Nigeria and parts of West Africa. His rise from modest beginnings to becoming one of the country’s most respected industrial figures is widely seen as a story of vision, perseverance and deep commitment to national development.
