Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba, widow of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known professionally as Mohbad, has taken legal steps to safeguard her late husband’s property.
On November 19, 2025, Omowunmi filed a notice at the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja, aimed at preventing any unauthorised claims on Mohbad’s estate.
Through her lawyers, she informed the Probate Registrar that she had submitted Forms 5 and 6, ensuring that Letters of Administration could only be granted to the recognised beneficiaries. The filing also formally identified Omowunmi as Mohbad’s legal wife and the mother of his only surviving child, Master Liam Aloba.

She further disclosed that public notices were published in two national newspapers in November 2025 to deter any fraudulent attempts to claim the estate. Her legal team emphasized that the notice remains valid in court records and must be respected until the estate is officially administered.
The filing underscores that the deceased’s lawful wife and son are still alive, protecting their rights as the recognised heirs of Mohbad’s estate.
