The Ogun State Government has declared its plan to charge Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, following a string of disturbing road incidents linked to the entertainer.

In a statement released on Monday, the Ministry of Justice confirmed that legal action is being set in motion regarding two separate crashes recorded on November 1 and November 23, 2025. The first crash, which happened in Sagamu, triggered widespread outrage after a viral video captured residents assaulting the DJ moments after he rammed his red pickup truck into two motorcycles.

The footage showed him stripped to a blood-stained singlet and trousers as an angry crowd accused him of “nearly killing” the riders and displaying an alarming lack of remorse. While some individuals beat him, others urged that he be handed over to law enforcement. There were also claims in the video alleging that he was under the influence of hard drugs during the incident.

According to the ministry’s statement, the Sagamu crash left two people injured. Authorities said DJ Chicken attempted to escape the scene, a move that directly sparked the violent mob reaction.

Barely weeks later, the DJ was again involved in another major crash — this time in the Lekki axis of Lagos. Social media clips suggested that he wrecked his luxury car in an incident that nearly endangered nearby pedestrians.

The Ogun State Ministry of Justice noted that it had thoroughly reviewed the circumstances surrounding the Sagamu crash, paying particular attention to the victims’ medical treatment, privacy, and rehabilitation.

The government further stressed that the entertainer’s alleged attempt to flee the earlier crash scene, followed by his quick return to driving without regard for public safety, made state intervention unavoidable.

“Yesterday’s incident is reportedly the third road crash in two months involving Mr Abiodun at the wheel,” the ministry said.

“While it may be reasonable to allow crash victims get compensation from persons who have driven recklessly and to resolve road traffic collisions as a civil wrong, some road users are special dangers to society and should be held to account under criminal law.

“Mr Abiodun is one such person. At least two of the crashes were documented in real time video coverage and are self-evident.”

Oluwasina Ogungbade, the Attorney General of Ogun State, has instructed the relevant officers to fast-track the unresolved case from the Sagamu crash to ensure his swift arraignment.
