The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has issued a warning to parents and guardians after its operatives discovered a new tactic used by drug traffickers to distribute illicit substances.
In a statement shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, the agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, revealed that traffickers are now hiding dangerous drugs, including a substance known as “Colos,” inside what appear to be ordinary flight boarding passes.
“These may appear as ordinary flight boarding pass but neatly concealed in them are dangerous substances such as Colos,” Babafemi stated.

He added, “This is one of the new methods of distributing illicit drugs in cities as uncovered by #ndlea_nigeria operatives in Lagos. This is another wake up call to parents and guardians to pay attention to what dispatch riders are delivering to their children and wards. The merchants of death are getting more disingenuous with their packaging but #NDLEA is surely steps ahead of them.”
The agency urged the public to remain vigilant, especially with deliveries from dispatch riders, as seemingly harmless packages could be used to smuggle harmful drugs.
