Popular rapper and activist Folarin Falana, widely known as Falz, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to step down, accusing him of failing to address Nigeria’s deepening security crisis.
Falz shared an old post made by Tinubu on November 6, 2014, in which Tinubu had demanded the resignation of former President Goodluck Jonathan over persistent terror attacks at the time.
By reposting the message, Falz suggested that the same standard should now apply to Tinubu.
In his accompanying comment, Falz criticized the President’s handling of national security, writing:
“You have consistently shown your unwillingness to protect the lives and property of our people despite pretending to care in the past. Resign now!”

His remarks come amid mounting concerns about rising violence across the country. Nigeria’s escalating insecurity—particularly jihadist attacks targeting Christians—has drawn increasing international attention.
At a United Nations event held on Tuesday, American rapper Nicki Minaj joined the conversation, speaking alongside U.S. Ambassador to the UN, Michael Waltz.
She called for urgent global action to address the persecution of Nigerian Christians. She emphasized the need for peace, unity and freedom of worship, and also thanked U.S. President Donald Trump for “speaking up for Nigerian Christians.”
