The Ondo State Police Command has apprehended 13 suspects allegedly involved in various criminal activities across the 18 local government areas of the state.
According to the command, the suspects were arrested for offences including cultism, armed robbery, kidnapping, fraud, burglary, and stealing, among others.
Speaking on Sunday in Akure, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adebowale Lawal, said the suspects would face prosecution once investigations were completed.
He stated, “In line with our community-driven and intelligence-led policing model, the command has continued to achieve remarkable successes in the fight against cultism, armed robbery, vehicle theft, fraud, and burglary across the state.
“We have 13 suspects, they were arrested across the state, having been involved in cultism, armed robbery, kidnapping, fraud, stealing by conversion, stealing, burglary, and stealing by conversion.
“These cases represent a cross-section of the command’s recent achievements in crime prevention, detection, and prosecution. The Ondo State Police Command remains steadfast in its resolve to rid the State of criminal elements and ensure the continued safety of all residents through strategic intelligence gathering, community collaboration, and robust patrol operations.”
Lawal further disclosed that several items were recovered from the suspects, including one pump-action gun, two locally made pistols, expended cartridges, mobile phones, and an Elepaq generator valued at N240,000.

Other recovered items include a roll of Energiser wire worth N280,000, assorted home electrical cables valued at N1,550,000, charms, and live goats.
The police commissioner commended residents of Ondo State for their continued cooperation and urged them to keep assisting the command with credible information that could help in tracking down criminals.
He said, “We appreciate the support of the good people of Ondo State in our fight against crime. We encourage them to continue providing useful information that can lead to the arrest and prosecution of criminal elements within their communities.”
