This isn’t the best of times for Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo.
On Tuesday evening, a fire gutted a section of her office building located in Lekki, Lagos and the actress shared a video showing the damage and confirmed that the incident happened around 7 p.m.
“This just happened today, the 8th of July 2025, around 7pm. My office building caught fire… Thankfully, no lives were lost. The devil tested us today but God said no. With God on my side, we will bounce back bigger and better,” she said.
Firefighters and her staff helped contain the fire.
Meanwhile, the actress’s newly married daughter, Priscilla Ojo has revealed that her mother Iyabo Ojo received a threat letter weeks before the fire incident.
Priscilla shared the letter on her Instagram Story on Wednesday, describing it as “a threat to life and a strategy to ruin JP2025,” the hashtag associated with her recently held wedding in Tanzania.
The typed letter, dated May 24, was signed by a group identified as “Aggrieved Group.”
It reads: “You put someone in trouble and you out enjoying giving out your daughter in marriage abi? O ma laya o. you can’t escape in the next 3 Months as we are out monitoring you. Watch out. We shall render that your Daughter married useless and rubbish it with scatter scatter. That your daughter will not enjoy her marriage. Sebi we are all there on that wedding day. Watch and see.”
Priscilla explained that the letter was delivered to her mother’s office, the same one that caught fire on Tuesday.
“Sadly, on the 24th of May, this letter was delivered to my mother’s office [the same one that was engulfed in fire yesterday],” she wrote.
“Strictly speaking, it was a threat to life and a strategy to ruin JP2025. Fortunately, she was en route to Tanzania for my wedding, which didn’t give her the opportunity to read the threat letter till her return.”
Priscilla alleged that the fire incident was a backup plan after the initial threat to ruin her wedding ceremony failed.
“The unfortunate incident of yesterday, 8th July, 2025, is their PLAN B as their plans to ruin JP2025 failed woefully!”
She said efforts were being made to identify who delivered the letter.
“We shall eventually detect the face of the delivery agent and show the public and the police at the right time even though more CCTV has been mounted both in her office and at home.
“A close look and reading at the threat letter it read in parts ‘that in the next three months, they would be monitoring us’!”
She also questioned the target of the attack.
“Wondering an office my mother owned for eight years! Hmmmmmm..!
“This is deep while a lot of questions are begging for answers and investigations. So much has been happening that I can’t even talk about here, but I just want to put it out here.
“You can’t silence my mother with all of this threat and criminal acts. God is stronger than any evil, and time will surely tell!!”
She ended the post with a message to her followers: “Have a wonderful day, everyone.”
