Fresh controversy seems to be trailing gospel singer Tope Alabi as her newly married daughter Ayomiku’s biological father, Olaoye Oyegoke, was absent at the wedding which was privately organised and held on March 12, 2025 at an event centre in Ifako-Ijaiye, Lagos..
The glitz, glamour and ambience spelt class. It had all trappings of opulence and every guest at the wedding ceremonies of Ayomiku Alabi and Oluwole Bantale were gaily dressed in pink aso ebi (uniform) They were set for the day’s events.
First, it was the civil/church wedding and all guests were dressed in formal dresses and suits. The mum of the bride, Tope Alabi was decked in a beautiful white dress and a fascinator on her head. The almost 27-year-old bride (her birthday is May 7) was also dressed in her white wedding dress and was led down the aisle by her father, Mr Soji Alabi aka Pope. He was also dressed in a suit.
It was an outdoor event and the sun smiled on all present. Ayomiku and Oluwole really had a nice ‘church’ wedding in the sun with good church choruses in the background.
Soji Alabi signed the wedding register and so did the parents of the groom.
The traditional wedding took place afterwards — this time inside the hall.
Again the parents of the bride (Soji and Tope Alabi) and their friends and other family members were overjoyed. That was the first wedding among Soji’s kids and they sure gave the ceremony their best. The bride had a bridal dance with her dad and was all over him all through the ceremony. Little wonder, a day after the event, Ayomiku took to Instagram and wrote”

At the wedding, Soji Alabi played the proud father role, sparking fresh accusations that Tope Alabi had refused to hand over Ayomiku to her biological father Olaoye despite what transpired in 2018 when Olaoye took to Instagram to celebrate his biological daughter when she clocked 20 years old..
The revelation is causing a serious uproar, with critics accusing Tope of rewriting history and denying a man the joy of fatherhood.
Before her marriage to Soji Alabi, Tope Alabi was in a relationship with one Olalekan Oyegoke, also known as Mayegun Olaoye.
Their relationship resulted in the birth of Ayomikun in 1997.
In November 2018, Olaoye publicly claimed to be Ayomiku’s biological father, alleging that Tope Alabi had denied him access to their daughter for over two decades.
He stated that he and the singer were in a relationship while living in Akure, Ondo State and that their romance led to Ayomiku’s birth.
Tope Alabi, who is now married to Soji Alabi—her husband and music producer—has two other children with him.
