In an Instagram post, VeryDarkMan writes, “Mercy Chinwo, I am sorry”

Social media character VeryDarkMan (VDM) has reacted to a N1.1 billion defamation lawsuit filed against him by gospel singer Mercy Chinwo.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, VeryDarkMan acknowledged the lawsuit, which was dated March 3 and stemmed from allegations he made against the singer in February.

“Body of Christ done sue, dear mercy chinwo I am sorry,” he captioned the Instagram post.

VDM had accused Chinwo of collecting funds from shows without paying her former record label, owned by Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, also known as Eezee T.

In a video shared along with his Instagram post on Thursday, he listed the various lawsuits filed against him, mentioning the plaintiffs and the amounts they were demanding.

These include Femi Falana and Folarin, N500 billion; Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, N1 billion; Nedu Ani, N500 million; Mercy Chinwo, N1.1 billion; Idris Okuneye (Bobrisky), N1 billion, and Esinjemiyotan Atsepoyi, N500 million.

Expressing his frustration, he said, “Una no go kill me o. Me I no get money o. Even the money wey dey NGO sef never reach like that. Now kill me.”

Addressing his followers, VeryDarkMan joked that he was in no position to challenge Mercy Chinwo’s lawsuit and decided to apologise.

He humorously rendered his apology through Mercy Chinwo’s songs, singing parts of her gospel tracks in a jeering manner.

He further pleaded, saying, “I’ll soon be coming to Nigeria. I don’t know how we are going to be doing this, but me, I don’t have N1 billion to pay. Just in case you win, I no get N1 billion wey I wan pay, abeg. So, Mercy Chinwo, abeg, the only thing wey I wan tell you be say, I’m not telling you to not sue, please just reduce the amount.”

He also reached out to Chinwo’s lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, begging him to intercede on his behalf and convince the singer to lower the amount to N5 million.

Mercy Chinwo is yet to publicly respond to VDM’s latest antic.
