Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Others Dazzle Fans At Greater Lagos Countdown To 2025

The iconic Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos became a haven of music, joy, and celebration on Tuesday as Nigerian A-list artistes delivered electrifying performances at the Greater Lagos Countdown.

Organized by the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, the event marked an unforgettable night that united thousands in anticipation of the New Year.

The annual end-of-year extravaganza featured a star-studded lineup, including Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Niniola, Olamide, Adewale Ayuba, Runtown, BNXN, Nice, Seyi Vibez, and more.

Fans were left in awe as Wizkid, the Starboy himself, got the crowd singing along to his chart-topping hits with his captivating stage presence. Burna Boy, the African Giant, brought unmatched energy and passion, lighting up the night with his powerful performance.

Tiwa Savage, the Queen of Afrobeats, mesmerized the audience with her sultry and energetic set, while Niniola delivered a soulful performance that showcased her vocal prowess at Greater Lagos Countdown.

Fuji maestro Adewale Ayuba thrilled his fans with classic hits like Ejo and Ijo Fuji, evoking nostalgia and excitement.

Adding to the spectacle, Nice rekindled the “Alapomeji” vibes on stage, captivating fans with his unique style and charisma at the Greater Lagos Countdown.

A lighter moment of the evening came when comedian Gbenga Adeyinka, the show’s host, hilariously taught Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu the trending ‘Oblee’ dance moves, leaving the crowd roaring with laughter.

In his address, Governor Sanwo-Olu thanked Lagosians for their resilience throughout 2024.

He said, “It is a year that you have shown true resilience that makes you true Lagosians. Together, we can succeed, and I thank you for staying with our government. 2025 will be a better year for all of us!”

The Greater Lagos Countdown 2025 was simultaneously held across the state’s five divisions, ensuring that no resident was left out of the celebration.

As the night culminated in dazzling fireworks, Lagosians were left with memories of an exhilarating evening and high hopes for the year ahead.
